5 more weeks...

Updated: Dec 5, 2019

Seeing as my last post was at the beginning of Fall semester, I think it is about time I posted again!

The last few weeks have been busy with classes, papers, exams and homework! We are coming up to finals, which will take place in the last two weeks of the semester. The classes I have been taking aren't quite what I expected, and they are hard!! But each have their interesting parts!

Last week I chose my subjects for next semester, which will be Psychology, Geography, Public Health and Sociology, which I think will be interesting!

Campus has been buzzing with different events most weekends throughout the semester.

At the beginning of the semester, they put on an event where all the clubs offered in the university were set up all around the grass outside our building, and all the students could walk around and choose if they wanted to join any! Me and my roommate Sophia both joined international club, which is run by international students, and they put on events that can to go and do! so far, we have been to holiday world (a theme and water park), and they took a group to a haunted house during halloween They also organise International Bazaar, which is where the international students can teach others about their countries. Apparently it is the largest event on campus throughout the year. Sophia and I took part, we shared a booth and taught others about our countries.

Another event that was put on was ‘BlockFest’ also just outside our accommodation. They had food trucks, live music, and some stalls doing tie dies and hennas, etc.

Fraternity Passover was another fun event that me, Sophia and Alex went to. The boys who were joining fraternities were quite literally passed over the heads of the boys in the fraternity they chose to join! It was very entertaining, and only one person was dropped! After this, all the fraternities were open for us to go and party with them!

Most weekends, there is an event put on, on campus. Sometimes by the sororities and fraternities, and other university groups/clubs.

A couple of weeks ago, we went to downtown Evansville for their annual Fall Festival, which was basically a fair with about a mile long road full of food trucks!

There is only 5 weeks to go now until the Christmas holidays, and we are definitely ready for the holidays. It feels like its been a long time coming, and it will be nice to get out of Evansville for a few weeks.

The next few weeks will be an experience with thanksgiving and Christmas on the way, I think it will be interesting to see how Americans do these holidays!
